課程概述 |
本課程將以物質與過去記憶和當代社會生活的關聯為主要關注的焦點。由於物的實體性和可延續性，是可以承載時間銘印記號的所在，許多社會運用物（包括可移動的文化器物和不可移動的景觀和聚落等）作為文化記憶的輔助器或儲藏盒。 |

課程目標 |
因此，課程將透過物質現象和佈局的研究，思考物背後反映的文化型式，檢視「具體化」過程中，生產與再現的文化價值，以及透過物質特性累積的身體經驗與過去記憶。除此之外，也將討論當代蓬勃發展的文化資產相關議題，討論物質文化遺產、當代認同和文化權力等關連。 |

課程要求 |
課堂閱讀報告討論：輪流進行指定閱讀文章報告，並發給同學相關內容大綱；每位同學皆需針對文章提出二個書面問題（以英文撰寫）。
研究計畫發表：針對自己有興趣的議題，收集相關資料，課堂中進行英文口頭報告；並針對評論進行修正。
期末發表與書面報告規劃報告：每人約20分鐘口頭報告、10分鐘評論；期末報告需完成約15頁英文報告。。
